Church Vision

Vision Statement

Tabernacle is a fellowship of believers growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to make and grow mature disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ through Christian Worship, Christian Education, Missions, and Evangelism.

Vision Overview

In order to fulfill our vision of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, we concentrate on the four pillars as guiding principles to grow mature disciples in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

We believe the church’s responsibility is to fulfill the Great Commission, which calls for disciples to make disciples. Therefore, the end goal for a mature disciple is to make other disciples for the glory of God.

We are committed to growing mature disciples through Christian Worship, Christian Education, Missions, and Evangelism. We desire to use these pillars to ignite an individual’s passion within for the kingdom of God, inform individuals’ minds with the word of God, which will enable us to individually and collectively impact our world for the glory of God.

Overview of the Steps and Pillars for Growth

Step I – Ignite

We believe the first step to growing mature disciples is weekly corporate worship. In worship we desire to IGNITE a believer’s passion within through a genuine encounter with the living God, as we worship in Spirit and in Truth through songs of praise, the reading of the Scripture, intercessory prayer, giving, and hearing proclamation of the Gospel.

Christian Worship

In order to grow mature disciples, we believe that one must worship corporately with other believers. In worship we give reverence and adoration to our triune God. We are reminded in worship of the greatness as well as the majesty of our God to the end that worshippers are encouraged, enlightened, and empowered to do God’s will and trust Him in every aspect of their lives. These powerful encounters allow us to grow together as we IGNITE our passion and grow through Christian Worship

Step II – Inform

We believe the second step to growing mature disciples is Christian Education. Through Christian education we desire to INFORM a believer’s mind with the Word of God so that God’s Word will inform every area of their life, as well as equip them to fulfill God’s purpose for their life.

Christian Education

In order to grow mature disciples, we offer several opportunities beyond the sermon on Sunday mornings to INFORM the mind with the Word of God. We have a growing Sunday School/Bible Study Fellowship, which now offers five classes every Sunday morning. We also have weekly worship on Wednesday that is centered on an engaging Bible study taught by our Pastor or a member of our ministerial staff. Moreover, there are periodic life group sessions on Wednesdays. These are lay-lead groups that focus on horizontal learning to edify the body and to nurture the body life of the Church. Lastly, we have insightful teaching ministries that are tailored to meet the needs of the women, men, youth, and children of our congregation. Each of these ministries meets monthly. These opportunities allow for thoughtful engagement with the text and one another so that we INFORM our mind and grow through Christian Education.

Step III – Impact

We believe the third step to growing mature disciples is mission and evangelism. Through serving opportunities, mission projects, and evangelistic efforts we provide opportunities for believers to IMPACT their cities, communities, and world for the glory of God.

Serving Opportunities/Missions Project/Evangelistic Efforts

In order to grow mature disciples, we offer several opportunities for members of the congregation to use their gifts to make an IMPACT for the good of their fellowman and the glory of God.

Throughout the year, the Church plans several mission efforts within our City and beyond to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters. We also plan evangelistic efforts to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost among us.

Lastly, there are serving ministries within the Church, which allow members to use their gifts to impact others by edifying the body of Christ. These endeavors and efforts empower our members to make a difference individually and collectively, as we IMPACT the world and grow through service, missions, and evangelism.
